At least that’s the sentiment of the UK’s Bass Guitar Magazine.
In celebration of the magazine’s 65th issue (the April 2011 issue), the magazine compiled a list of the “65 basses you must play if you want to call yourself a true bass hero.”
Of the 65 basses on the list, the acoustic Kala uBass came in at number 63.
The magazine had this to say about our favorite ukulele bass:
“This cute little bass is essentially a baritone ukulele with a larger neck, passive piezo pickups and polyurethane strings. It may look tiny, but in fact the 20″ scale allows you more space than you’d expect. The tuning is standard too, making this among the more desirable ukes for bassists.”
We couldn’t agree more.
